Maxi VP-2155 Air-Conditioner Protector, a specialized 13-amp surge voltage protector designed to safeguard appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners (rated 1HP to 1.5HP) from unsafe voltage fluctuations.

How It Works

This device monitors live electrical status and acts as an automated safety switch: [1]

• High Voltage Protection: If incoming power surges past a safe threshold (typically around 250V–265V), the device instantly cuts off current to prevent burnout or fire hazards. 
• Low Voltage Protection: If the voltage drops below a safe running range (typically around 165V), it disconnects the power to protect sensitive motorized compressors from over-current damage. 
• Delay Timer: Once fluctuating power stabilizes back into standard operational boundaries, the device triggers a countdown delay rather than turning on instantly. This avoids rapid on-off cycling and protects the internal compressor from high back-surges. 

What the Lights and Buttons Mean

The face of the VP-2155 features three indicator LEDs and one manual button:

• Normal / D-Time (Green LED):
  • Flashing: The unit is currently in its wait/delay period countdown. It is validating that the grid voltage remains stable before letting power pass through.
  • Solid On: The line voltage is completely stable, and power has been successfully restored to your appliance. 
• VP-low (Red LED): This illuminates when the grid drops below the minimum safe threshold, meaning the protector has temporarily isolated your appliance to prevent motor degradation. 
• VP-high (Red LED): This illuminates when grid voltage triggers an over-voltage surge alarm, cutting power instantly to shield delicate circuitry. 
• C-Start (Red Button): Known as the Fast-Start / Cancel Delay key. If you know the grid voltage is currently stable and do not want to wait for the standard multi-minute automatic delay countdown, pressing this button instantly bypasses the wait time and restores power immediately.
