Leading Light - Toyin Ayinde

Olutoyin Ayinde, popularly called Toyin Ayinde, was born into the family of Pastor Moses Oluyemi Ayinde and Deaconess Grace Olajumoke Ayinde (Nee Ogunlewe). He obtained the Post-Graduate Professional Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning with an Award for outstanding performance, and later, a Master’s Degree of Transport Planning. He is an alumnus of the Daystar Leadership Academy, and obtained the CPMS certificates on Effective Project Management and Advanced Project Management. He attended certificate courses/training in Occupational Safety and Health Management, as well as, Comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment.

His experience in the field of Urban and Regional Planning cuts across public and private sectors, as well as, academics. He has brought this to bear in serving his Institute, the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), and the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria, of which he is Charter Chairman of the Lagos State Branch. He is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Centre for Urban Planning Studies, Lagos State University, and a mentor to many young professionals who look up to him as a role model for responsible leadership.

He served the Lagos State Government as Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning & Urban Development (2011-2015) in the Babatunde Raji Fashola Administration. He is a Consultant Urban Planner and currently the 1st National Vice-President of NITP. He is happily married to Rhoda Olubusola Ayinde and blessed with children and grandchildren.
