A wireless microphone system
transmits audio signals from a microphone to a receiver using radio frequencies (RF) instead of physical cables, providing freedom of movement and a clutter-free environment for performers, speakers, and content creators.
Components
A typical wireless microphone system consists of three primary components that work together:
- Microphone The input device that captures sound and converts it into an electrical signal.
- Transmitter The component that receives the electrical audio signal, modulates it onto a radio frequency carrier signal, and broadcasts it wirelessly via an antenna. In handheld microphones, the transmitter is built into the handle, while lavalier and headset microphones connect to a separate bodypack (belt-pack) transmitter.
