Product details

Thermal conductive paste (also called thermal grease, compound, or TIM) is a viscous material applied between a heat source (like a CPU or GPU) and a cooling device (like a heat sink or liquid cooler). Its primary purpose is to eliminate microscopic air pockets caused by surface imperfections, ensuring efficient heat transfer to prevent components from overheating.

Features:

  • High stability & reliability
  • Apply to : CPU, VGA, LED, Chipset and other PC components
  • Packing: syringe
  • Easy operation
  • Helps effectively dissipate heat from processor to radiator
  • Suitable for: radiator, processor or chips
  • Low thermal resistance, high conductivity , high temperature resistance
  • Non-toxic, tasteless, not aggressive
  • Compliance with RoHS REACH PFOS requirements
  • Net weight: 30g
  • Grey thermal paste
  • Thermal conductivity: greater than 1.90 W /m-k
  • Thermal resistance : less than 0.225C - in/w

Key Features

Step 1: Prep & Clean the Surfaces

You must completely remove all old, crusty residue before applying new compound.

  • Dampen a microfiber cloth or coffee filter with 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Do not use paper towels, as they leave behind lint.
  • Wipe down the processor surface gently until the metal shine returns.
  • Wipe the baseplate of the cooler where it contacts the chip.
  • Let it dry completely for 1–2 minutes.

Step 2: Choose Your Pattern

Pick one of these standard configurations based on your processor type:

  • The Single Pea (Best for Standard CPUs): Squeeze a tiny dot (4–5mm wide, about the size of a pea) directly in the dead center of the chip. The weight of the cooler will squeeze it outward naturally.
  • The "X" Shape (Best for Large or Square CPUs): Draw a thin "X" from corner to corner. This delivers excellent coverage to the corners of larger square desktop processors.
  • The Butter Spread (Best for Direct-Die GPUs & Laptops): Use a plastic spatula or a gloved finger to spread an ultra-thin, smooth layer across the entire surface. This is mandatory for bare graphics card chips, as they have no built-in metal cover to protect them.

Step 3: Mount the Cooler Immediately

Once the paste is down, drop the heatsink or water block straight down onto the CPU.

  • Avoid twisting or sliding the cooler around once it touches the paste, as this introduces trapped air bubbles.
  • Tighten the screws in a crisscross pattern (e.g., top-left, bottom-right, top-right, bottom-left). Turn each screw a few times to slowly pull the cooler down evenly, ensuring the paste spreads uniformly.
