For hand sewing needles (4 easy steps)

• Open the threader — unfold the small pivoting arm so the thin fork/prong is exposed.
• Push the prong through the needle eye — hold the needle steady with the eye facing you and insert the prong from front → back.
• Lay thread on the fork — place a short (1–2 cm) bit of thread across the prong or through its small slot.
• Pull the prong back through the eye — withdraw the prong, bringing the thread through the needle. Remove the threader and pull the thread to the needed length.

For a sewing-machine needle (front thread through eye)

• Turn off the machine & access the needle — safety first. Lower presser foot and position needle to its highest point if needed.
• Unfold the threader arm and carefully push the prong through the machine needle’s eye (front → back).
