A faulty or inoperative blower motor resistor will result in poor cabin cooling or heating. It can also cause insufficient defrosting or de-icing of the windshield, reducing driver visibility.

When replacing a faulty blower motor resistor, check the function of other heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system components, as they may be causing the blower motor resistor to fail.

The current draw of the blower motor should be checked according to the manufacturer's specifications, and the cabin air filter (if equipped) should be repd.
