A cable wire stripper is a specialized tool used to cleanly slice and remove the protective outer jacket or plastic insulation from electrical and communication wires, exposing the conductive metal core without causing any nicks or damage
Beyond basic stripping, modern multifunction wire strippers are equipped with several highly useful features to aid in electrical work:
Cable Cutting: Many strippers feature built-in blades near the hinge to snip excess wire or trim cables to the desired length
Looping & Bending: The small holes or notches near the tips allow you to effortlessly bend wires into terminal loops (or J-hooks) for screws on outlets and light switches
