1.WRAPPING IT AT THE BASE WITH THE FAUX LOC ITSELF

The first option is wrapping the crochet locs at the base with the hair itself. This will give a faux loc look, while still having soft locs. Wendy from Faux Locs London did this faux loc bob look on herself and also a long brown soft loc look aswell (using our long kinky crochet faux locs in 24″ in 30# chocolate brown). She unravelled the loc and tightly wrapped it around the roots. The key to keeping this still tension free is not to not wrap too tightly at roots but not too loose either. Be like Goldilocs and get it just right.

2.WRAPPING IT AS DISTRESSED LOCS AT THE ROOTS

The second option is wrapping the crochet loc with hair at the roots to create a distressed look. This will involve either using passion twist water wave hair or distressed locs wrapping hair.

3.WRAPPING IT ALL THE WAY DOWN WITH WRAPPING HAIR

An alternative to this is to wrap the crochet locs all the way down to the bottom. Which is more likely to give you a distressed loc look. These locs are considered soft locs aswell as they are not stiff, but they are more of a faux loc look and normally distressed in texture.

HOW TO WRAP CROCHET FAUX LOCS AND SOFT LOCS AT NIGHT?

We highly recommend wrapping your crochet faux locs or soft locs at night. This will make your hair style last longer and keep it looking fresher for longer. You will need a satin or silk hair bonnet. Simply your hair in a bun or just pack it up with a hair tie or scrunchie and put your hair bonnet on. Alternatively you can use a silk or satin scarf or pillow. Sik and satin are recommended as the fabric does not snag. It minisze friction between the hair, managing tangling or frizz that may arise.

HOW TO WASH CROCHET FAUX LOCS AND SOFT LOCS?

Washing your hair with crochet faux locs is quite easy. I recommend some scalp therapy first, to keep your own hair nice and clean. Wet your scalp and add shampoo then scrub your scalp with the pad of your finger. Notice I said pad of your fingers, not your nails. Using your nails can cause too much friction on your scalp, leading to breakage. Proceed to add some shampoo on the locs, gently spread it downwards. Rinse your hair and add a some conditioner, gently spread it in a downwards motion aswell.
To dry the hair, gently pat your hair dry. Do not add too much friction to the locs. Add some leave in conditioner or a hair serum, this step is optional but it will help reduce any frizz.

HOW LONG TO CROCHET FAUX LOCS AND SOFT LOCS LAST?

Typically synthetic crochet locs can last anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks. With our line of locs, we encourage our customers to reuse them. They look even better after your first install. So you can get multiple use out of it for re-installation. On the other hand blend crochet faux locs, can last for upto 3 months. If you are to keep these in for months for one install, hair care for your own natural hair underneath will be a priority with regular shampoo and conditioning to keep your scalp clean.
