A Diplexer is not only a combiner as it can be used to combine or split RF and SAT-IF frequencies.The Space SMDC1 –SAT/TV Combiner is a small lightweight but very efficient TV and Satellite combiner / splitter. In the diagram above, you will notice that the two decoders involved are connected through the LNB, located up at the satellite dish.Signal transmission runs from the Smart LNB, to the DStv Diplexers and then to the decoders. The Diplexers carry two signal formats - the DStv satellite signals and the "HeartBeat Communication" signals.
