Our 20% GLA-content Borage seed oil (Borago officinalis) is clear and
slightly thick with very little odor and is cold expeller pressed. Gamma
linoleic acid (GLA) is an essential fatty acid that the body uses to
manufacture prostaglandins (hormone-like substances that balance and
regulate cellular activity). Borage is said to reduce the aging process
of the skin and to reverse damage from ultraviolet rays. Many use this
oil externally to treat PMS, endometriosis and menopausal discomforts,
as well as psoriasis and eczema.
Our Borage oil does not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs) nor phthalates. The manufacturer has confirmed the absence of amabiline and pyrrolizidine alkaloids in our Borage oil. Solvents are not used to extract this oil.
Borage is not used in cooking. For cosmetic purposes, it may be used at a 10%-15% dilution rate. SAP value: 188.0. Shelf life: Approx. 6 months when stored in a cool place away from direct light and heat. INCI: Borago officinalis (Borage) seed oil.
