Product details

The AIDA A-UT33B Digital Multimeter is a compact, reliable, and user-friendly device ideal for DIY electronics, home repairs, and professional electrical diagnostics. With a large backlit LCD display and a wide range of measurement capabilities, it’s perfect for measuring DC/AC voltage, DC current, resistance, continuity, diode, and transistor testing.

Features:

  1. Large Backlit LCD Screen: Clear readings even in low-light environments.
  2. Multifunctional Tester: Measures DC/AC voltage, DC current, resistance, diode, transistor, and continuity.
  3. Data Hold Function: Easily freeze the current reading for recording or analysis.
  4. Built-in Overload Protection: Ensures safe operation in all ranges.
  5. Low Battery Indicator: Alerts when battery power is low.
  6. Compact & Durable Design: Lightweight and portable with a protective rubber casing.

Port Connections (How to Plug in Probes):

The device has three input jacks. You must insert your test leads correctly based on what you are testing:

  1. COM (Black Probe): The universal ground jack. The black lead always stays here.
  2. VΩmA (Red Probe): Plug the red lead here for the vast majority of tasks, including measuring Voltage, Resistance, Diode tests, Continuity, and low DC current (milliamperes).
  3. 10A (Red Probe): Move the red lead here only when measuring high DC current up to 10A. Warning: Leaving the probe here while testing voltage will cause a short circuit and blow the internal fuse.

Step-by-Step Usage Guide:

1. Checking Continuity (Tracing Wires or Fuses)

  • Turn the rotary dial to the Continuity/Diode icon (looks like a sound wave or arrow with a vertical line).
  • Touch the black and red probe tips together to ensure you hear a continuous beep.
  • Place one probe at each end of the wire, switch, or fuse you want to test.
  • A constant beep means the path is clear (good fuse/wire). If the screen displays a 1, the circuit is broken.

2. Measuring DC Voltage (Batteries, Auto Electronics)

  • Turn the dial to the V⎓ (DC Voltage) section.
  • Choose a range higher than your expected reading (e.g., set it to 20V to test a 12V car battery or a 9V battery).
  • Touch the Black probe to the negative (-) terminal and the Red probe to the positive (+) terminal.
  • Read the value. A minus sign - means your polarity is reversed.

3. Measuring AC Voltage (Wall Outlets)

  • Safety Warning: Keep your fingers behind the plastic guards on the probes. Do not use this meter on industrial or high-energy distribution panels (stay within CAT I limits).
  • Turn the dial to the V~ (AC Voltage) section, specifically to 600V or 200V depending on your country’s standard grid.
  • Insert the probes into the hot and neutral slots of the outlet.

4. Measuring Resistance (Resistors)

  • Ensure the component being tested is completely disconnected from power.
  • Turn the dial to the Ω (Ohm) section.
  • Place the probes across the resistor. If the screen reads 1, the resistance is higher than your current setting; turn the dial to a higher range (e.g., from 2k to 20k).

Crucial Safety & Maintenance Tips:

  • Avoid Overloads: If the screen displays only a solitary 1 on the far left, you are experiencing an over-range condition. Immediately switch to a higher scale to avoid damaging the internal converter.
  • Turn Off After Use: Keep the dial at the OFF position when stored to avoid draining the 9V battery.
  • Replace the Battery Early: If the low battery icon appears, replace the 9V battery immediately. Low battery voltage causes the meter to display falsely elevated voltage readings, which can be dangerous.
