Could the black terminal be used as a battery disconnect as well?

- Yes, as long as you unsnapped it and remove it from the terminal, just keep in mind the basic rule "always disconnect the negative FIRST" in a negative ground system and do not let the connection fall against the battery post.

How can you fit jumper cables on these?

- Although the heads are a little bigger, battery cable still fit. Even if it was an issue you could use the quick release handle, it makes it real easy to remove it from the battery post.
