On the flip side, an excess of insulin or other diabetes medications can drive blood sugar levels too low, resulting in hypoglycemia. This can occur if a person with diabetes takes too much insulin or medication, doesn't eat enough food to match their medication dose, or engages in more physical activity than usual without properly adjusting their treatment plan.
Hypoglycemia can be dangerous, causing symptoms like shakiness, confusion, dizziness, and even seizures if blood sugar drops too precipitously. It's important for people with diabetes to carefully monitor their blood sugar levels and work closely with their healthcare team to maintain them within a healthy range
