Guys, have you ever found yourself in a state where you receive an invitation to an event that is a cross between formal, dressy and casual and you don’t have an inclination as to what to wear because you don’t want to show up looking inappropriately dressed? Welcome to my Saturday situation!
Pulling of a smart casual look wasn’t the problem but you see, Saturdays in Nigeria are generally known for floor length gowns, towering gele’s, excessively beaded gowns and all that good stuff and the worst thing you can do to yourself is to show up at a casual meet up looking like you’re en route a wedding reception. So here I was, invitation in my hand, standing in-front of my closet, looking through all my clothes and wondering what the heck I had been spending money on.
I was sure that there was going to be a crowd of young adults, a forty-five percent chance of senior citizens and after my worthwhile gym session in the morning, I decided I would flaunt a little bit of skin and have a handy jacket in case I felt the need to cover up. So I picked out this leather skirt I purchased recently, reached for my ever dependable lacey crop top and a white jacket.
Your guess is as good as mine. Forty minutes after I got there and a glass of champagne later, I tossed the jacket and danced the evening away.
P.S My name is Kachi, you might be seeing a little more of me here.
Thanks for reading.
