Fashion is a platform for self-expression and creativity. First came Pharrell, then came Kanye, then came Beyoncé with Ivy Park.

Major fashion brands are partnering up with different musicians, to help you get a piece of their creations. “Get Lucky” singer Pharrell Williams partnered up with sneaker brand Adidas and created the Adidas Supercolor Collection which is a revamped 1990s Adidas Superstar sneaker in 50 colours. Yes! You read that right 50! Ranging from red to purple and khaki green. These sneakers are a must-have for anyone out there that is a sneaker-head.

Adidas also partnered up with the king of urban fashion, and one of my style icons, Kanye West (Pablo). Kanye West and Adidas partnered up in 2013 and created what has become quite the popular pair of sneakers in the 21st Century; YEEZY Boosts. With the latest sneaker collection Yeezy Boost 750, there has been a lot of anticipation with the pair of sneakers retailing for around USD 550 in some stores. Some people have up to 10 pairs, now that is dedication.

Rihanna too, got bit by the sneaker bug and released her sneaker line Fenty Creeper, with a new collection released this July. Her Creeper Collection was inspired by the fashion of the 1980s and 1990s complete with a thick sole that was popular at the time.

Beyoncé took a different approach and partnered up with Topshop to create a line of active wear, Ivy Park. The “Formation” singer says the collection is inspired by the days spent with her father in the park and the promo video is an interesting watch with Queen B doing best what she is known to, being the Queen!

Let’s see who is going to take the fashion industry by storm next. He might not be a musician, but I hear that Neymar is going to be the first footballer to get his own line of Nike Air Jordan.
