Consider the room in which the TV will sit. Measure the distance (in inches) between where you plan to mount the TV and where you plan to sit. So if you have a 42-inch TV, you can sit 84 inches (7 feet) away for a comfortable and immersive experience. If you're looking at a 4K ultra-high-definition television, the formula changes a bit. Several streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Video and even YouTube have started offering 4K content, and untra HD Blu-ray discs are becoming readily available. Full HD or 1080p is still the most common screen resolution today, but 4K is increasingly becoming the standard, and the better choice if you want something future proof.

OLED: An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is a light-emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compound that emits light in response to an electric current. OLEDs have large fields of view and do not require backlighting like LCDs. They can be so small that they can be used as individual pixels, millions of which occupy your TV screen, lighting up and shutting off totally independent. Because of this flexibility, when an OLED pixel is shut off, it is completely off, which leads to a deeper and more natural shade of black.
LED: A light-emitting diode (LED) is a two-lead semiconductor light source. It is a p-n junction diode that emits light when activated. When a suitable current is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. LED TVs produce more vivid images compared to fluorescent light. LED TVs have the ability to create dark areas in the screen and control it, which is something that's missing in traditional LCD TVs. Both edge lighting and full-array backlighting have the capability to adjust black levels, allowing for dark blacks and significantly better dark scenes. Moreovr, accuracy in backlghting for colored pictures is also better with LED TVs.
LCD: A liquid-crystal display (LCD) is a flat-panel display or other electronically modulated optical device that uses the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals. Image is perfectly sharp at the native resolution of the panel. The high peak intensity produces very bright images but has limited viewing angles.
Smart TVs: A smart TV is a television set with integrated internet and interactive web features. They have built-in Wi-Fi for connecting to Internet-based services like Netflix for streaming videos, downloading on-demand movies, playing games or even posting to Facebook. The recent models can even search for content across streaming services and live programming on cable and satellite.
