Spirulina is a blue-green algae which grows naturally in many parts of the world and has been used by various cultures throughout history.
The water in which it grows is sourced from 300m underground and tested twice annually to ensure its purity. Spirulina is a superfood, high in protein, vitamins and minerals and it is considered by nasa and the esa one of the only suitable foods to be cultivated on long distance space missions.
After being harvested it is gently dried and made in to a powder. It provides a natural source of protein and is rich in vitamins and minerals. Use in smoothies and shakes. Sprinkle on salads.
